Product Description
The Canon RF 45mm f/1.2 STM Lens is a premium standard prime lens designed for Canon RF-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. Combining a versatile 45mm focal length, an ultra-bright f/1.2 aperture, and smooth STM autofocus, this lens is ideal for photographers and filmmakers seeking exceptional image quality with natural perspective and outstanding low-light performance.
Positioned between traditional 35mm and 50mm lenses, the 45mm focal length offers a natural angle of view that closely matches human vision. It is well suited for street photography, environmental portraits, travel, documentary work, weddings, food photography, lifestyle images, and everyday shooting.
The fast f/1.2 maximum aperture excels in challenging lighting conditions while producing extremely shallow depth of field and creamy, professional-looking bokeh. Combined with the 9-blade rounded diaphragm, the lens creates smooth background separation and attractive out-of-focus highlights, making subjects stand out beautifully.
Its advanced optical construction utilizes precision-crafted aspherical and Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) elements to minimize chromatic aberration, spherical aberration, and distortion while maintaining exceptional sharpness, contrast, and color accuracy across the image frame. Canon's Super Spectra Coating further reduces flare and ghosting, ensuring clean, high-contrast images even when shooting toward bright light sources.
The STM (Stepping Motor) autofocus system delivers smooth, fast, and nearly silent focusing performance, making the lens equally effective for still photography and video recording. Continuous autofocus transitions are quiet and natural, making it an excellent choice for vloggers, filmmakers, and hybrid creators.
The lens also features Canon's customizable Control Ring, allowing quick access to settings such as aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, or shutter speed for a more intuitive shooting experience.
Despite its bright aperture and premium optics, the lens maintains a balanced design that pairs comfortably with Canon EOS R-series mirrorless cameras, making it an excellent everyday prime lens for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
