The Cambo Rodenstock HR Digaron-S 180mm f/5.6 Aperture Body Lens is a premium telephoto lens developed for professional technical camera systems and medium format digital backs. Built around Rodenstock's acclaimed HR Digaron-S optical platform, it delivers exceptional sharpness, outstanding contrast, and superior color fidelity for photographers who demand uncompromising image quality.
Optimized for modern digital sensors with 5-micron pixel pitch, the lens achieves resolving power of up to 100 line pairs per millimeter, making it well suited for today's ultra-high-resolution medium format digital backs. Its advanced symmetrical optical design minimizes chromatic aberration, suppresses color fringing caused by sensor cover glass, and maintains outstanding image quality from center to edge.
The 80mm image circle provides ample coverage for technical camera movements while maintaining excellent optical performance. The lens performs at its highest level between f/5.6 and f/8, although its wide-open aperture is virtually free of vignetting, allowing accurate focusing and composition in demanding lighting conditions.
This Aperture Body version does not include a mechanical shutter, making it ideal for use with digital backs equipped with an electronic shutter, such as the Phase One IQ4, or other technical camera systems utilizing electronic exposure control. Compatible with standard Copal #0 lens boards, it integrates seamlessly into Cambo and other professional technical camera platforms.
